Insta360 Comparison & Buy Guide

Every brand of cameras has an unlimited amount of different models, and it can be intimidating for anyone looking to buy one. Insta360 is no different, and if you’re wanting to get into the action/360 camera scene, we have a guide to help you decide which camera is best for you!

Insta360 One X2

The classic Insta360 camera. This is the upgrade to the original One X, with significantly better video quality. This camera has a great design, it's easy to use and captures pretty nice looking videos in full 360. The touchscreen is small but does the job and makes adjusting the exposure and other settings accessible without using the mobile app.

Insta360 One X2
  • 5.7K Dual-Lens 360

  • 10m Waterproof

  • Live-View Touchscreen

The Insta360 One X2 is available for $725

Insta360 X3

This is a pretty decent upgrade from the One X2, the X3 comes with two ½ inch sensors and a bigger battery, plus the design is a lot nicer, the touch screen is bigger and a lot easier to use. This camera allows you to film in 8K time-lapse and up to 180fps Slow motion in 3K.

Insta360 X3
  • Dual 1/2 Inch sensors

  • 72MP 360 Photos

  • 2.29" Touchscreen

  • 10m Waterproof

  • 180fps Slow-Mo

The Insta360 X3 is available for $899

Insta360 One R

The insta360 One R is an action camera very similar to a GoPro but features an interchangeable lens design. This camera is not 360 off the bat, but can be with the addition of the Dual-Lens 360 Mod. The two other available lenses are a 4K Wide-Angle and a Leica 1-Inch Sensor Lens. This camera is also totally waterproof up to 5m!

Insta360 One R
  • Interchangeable Lens Design

  • Capable of 4k Wide Angle + 360 Capture

  • 5m Waterproof

The Insta360 One R is available from $779

Insta360 One RS

The One RS is the upgrade to the One R. It's also not a 360 camera out of the box, as it features the same interchangeable lens system that is cross compatible with the One R but the big upgrade is the addition of Active HDR which looks fantastic.

4K Lens (Left) vs 1-Inch Lecia Lens (Right)

You can purchase this with either the standard 4k lens (4k Edition), a Leica lens with a 1 inch sensor (1 inch edition), or the Dual-Lens 360 lens (Twin edition). The 4k and 1-Inch Leica lens are both wide angle, though the Leica looks significantly better due to the 1-Inch sensor, whereas the Dual-Lens 360 lens adds 360 video capability.

  • 48MP Photo

  • Interchangeable Lens Design

  • 5m Waterproof

  • Active HDR

The One RS Twin Edition is available for $899, the 4K Edition for $529, and the 1-Inch Edition for $899

Insta360 One RS 1-Inch 360 Edition

This camera is easily the best thing Insta360 has ever made, hence why it’s double the price of any of the other cameras. The One RS 1-Inch 360 Edition is almost a hybrid of the One RS and the original One X Cameras. The dual 1-inch sensor 360 Leica Lenses look incredible, and the low light on this is ridiculously good. All the other 360 cameras are obviously great but they still have a very, action camera/go-pro quality to them, they’re noisy and don’t really hold up with other video cameras. This camera genuinely looks like it could be slotted into a film and it wouldn’t be distinguishable from the cinema camera. If you’re looking to splash out, get this camera.

Insta360 One RS 1-Inch 360 Edition
  • Dual 1-Inch Sensors

  • 6K 360 Video

  • Water Resistant

  • Superb Low Light

The Insta360 One RS 1-Inch 360 Edition is available for $1,499
